Digital Footprint Digital footprint or digital shadow refers to one's unique set of traceable digital activities, actions, contributions and communications manifested on the Internet or digital devices.
Cookies A cookie is information saved by your web browser. When you visit a website, the site may place a cookie on your web browser so it can recognize your device in the future.
GeoLocation Geolocation refers to the identification of the geographic location of a user or computing device via a variety of data collection mechanisms.
MetaData Metadata is "data that provides information about other data", but not the content of the data, such as the text of a message or the image itself.
Data Data is information that has been translated into a form that is efficient for movement or processing.
Spreadsheet A spreadsheet is a computer application for computation, organization, analysis and storage of data in tabular form.
Browser History Web browsing history refers to the list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated metadata such as page title and time of visit.
Digital Literacy Digital literacy as “the ability to use information and communication technologies to find, evaluate, create, and communicate information, requiring both cognitive and technical skills.”
Blog A discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries (posts).
Dossier A collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject.
Derogatory The information is negative and will likely hurt your ability to qualify for credit or other services
Social Networking A social networking service or SNS is an online platform which people use to build social networks or social relationships with other people who share similar personal or career content, interests, activities, backgrounds or real-life connections.
Viral A video, image, or story goes viral, it spreads quickly and widely on the internet through social media and email.
Profile A short article giving a description of a person or organization.
Privacy Settings Privacy settings are "the part of a social networking website, internet browser, piece of software, etc. that allows you to control who sees information about you".
