Unit 2 Vocabulary

Acute angle an angle that measures between 0 and 90 degrees.
Congruent angle angle that have the same measurement.
Coplanar lying in the same plane.
Midpoint A point on a line segment that divides it into two equal partsThe halfway point of a line segment.
Perpendicular lines lines that intersect and form right angles.
Ray is the part of a line consisting of one endpoint and all the points of the line on one side of the endpoint.
Space is the set of all points.
Angle is formed by two rays with the same endpoint.
Congruent segment are segment that have the same length.
Counterexample is a particular example or instance of the statement that makes the statement false.
Obtuse angle is an angle whose measure is between 90 and 180.
Plane is the two dimensional analogue of a point , a line and a space.
Right angle Is an angle whose measure is 90.
Angle bisector is a ray that divides an angle into two congruent angles.
Conjecture is a conclusion reached by using inductive reasoning.
Inductive reasoning is a type of reasoning in which all possibilities are considered and then all but one are proved false.
Opposite rays are collinear rays with the same endpoint.
Point It has no shape.
