constants conditions that remain the same for all experimental groups
control the standard for comparison (does not contain an I.V. and must be included for an experiment to be valid)
dependent variable The variable that is the result of the independent variable
experiment a scientific procedure undertaken to make a discovery, test a hypothesis, or demonstrate a known fact.
hypothesis an educated guess
independent variable the variable manipulated (changed) by the experiment, a valid experiment only has 1.
observation the action or process of observing something or someone carefully or in order to gain information.
derived unit a unit of measurement obtained by multiplication or division of the base units
graph a line straight or curved that shows relation between two quantities out of which one varies as a result of change in other.

liter volume
mass the quantity of matter which a body contains, as measured by its acceleration under a given force or by the force exerted on it by a gravitational field.
volume the amount of space occupied

time how long something takes
