Symmetric Axiom of Equality | The two members of an equation can be reversed without affecting their equality |
Order of Operations | 1. Evaluate any powers first 2. Multiply and divide in order from left to right 3. Last add and subtract in order from left to right |
distributing | multiplication or division over addition or subtraction of two or more terms from the left or from the right |
associate | To group two of the numbers in parenthesis so that the operations between them are done first |
solution set | the set of all solutions to an equation |
