gulf a large body of water surrounded by land on all three sides
hill a raised area of land with a rounded top
ice cap a glacier on top of a mountain spreading down all sides
inlet a long or narrow indent in the shoreline
island land surrounded by water
isthmus a narrow strip of land that connects two larger ones
lake a large body of water surrounded by land
landform a natural feature of a land surface
ocean the whole body of salt water between continents
peninsula land with water on three sides
plateau a mountain with a flat top
river a natural flowing body of water larger than a stream or creek
sea body of salt water smaller than an ocean basin
strait a thin body of water that connects two larger ones
stream a small river
valley a landform lower than the land around it
