Detomidine Hydrochloride | Dormosedan and Dormosedan Gel. Used for sedation and analgesia in horses. Side Effects: Sweating, muscle tremors, penile prolapse, bradycarida, heart block |
Medetomidine | Facilitating clinical exam, minor surgical procedures, minor dental procedures not requiring intubation. Side Effects: bradycardia, atrioventricular heart block, decreased respirations, hypothermia, urination, vomiting, hyperglycemia, pain injection site |
Dexmedetomidine | Dexdomitor. Used as a sedative, preanesthetic, analgesic in cats and dogs. Side Effects: bradycardia, hypertension, vomiting, atrioventricular block, muscle tremors |
Romifidine | Sedivet. Used as a sedative to facilitate handling, examination, and treatment as as a premedication before anesthesia in horses. |
