Digital Footprint | the information about a particular person that exists on the internet as a result of their online activity. |
Cookies | Cookies are text files with small pieces of data — like a username and password — that are used to identify your computer as you use a computer network. |
GeoLocation | the identification of the geographic location of a user or computing device via a variety of data collection mechanisms. |
MetaData | a set of data that describes and gives information about other data. |
Data | facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis. |
Spreadsheet | A spreadsheet is a configuration of rows and columns. Rows are horizontal vectors while columns are vertical vectors. |
Browser History | the list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated data such as page title and time of visit. |
Digital Literacy | an individual's ability to find, evaluate, and clearly communicate information through typing and other media on various digital platforms. |
Blog | a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style. |
Dossier | a collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject. |
Derogatory | showing a critical or disrespectful attitude. |
Social Networking | Social networking is the use of Internet-based social media platforms to stay connected with friends, family, or peers. |
Viral | phrase. If a video, image, or story goes viral, it spreads quickly and widely on the internet through social media and email. Their amazing video of the project has now gone viral with millions of views. |
Profile | A file or group of files stored on a user. These files may contain preferences, settings, contact information, credit information, etc. A profile allows the user's settings to be restored when that user logs back into the computer, network, or service. |
Privacy Settings | Settings help you indicate whether or not you give consent for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information. |
