TermDefinition
Digital Footprint the information about a particular person that exists on the internet as a result of their online activity.
Cookies Cookies are text files with small pieces of data — like a username and password — that are used to identify your computer as you use a computer network.
GeoLocation the identification of the geographic location of a user or computing device via a variety of data collection mechanisms.
MetaData a set of data that describes and gives information about other data.
Data facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis.
Spreadsheet A spreadsheet is a configuration of rows and columns. Rows are horizontal vectors while columns are vertical vectors.
Browser History the list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated data such as page title and time of visit.
Digital Literacy an individual's ability to find, evaluate, and clearly communicate information through typing and other media on various digital platforms.
Blog a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.
Dossier a collection of documents about a particular person, event, or subject.
Derogatory showing a critical or disrespectful attitude.
Social Networking Social networking is the use of Internet-based social media platforms to stay connected with friends, family, or peers.
Viral phrase. If a video, image, or story goes viral, it spreads quickly and widely on the internet through social media and email. Their amazing video of the project has now gone viral with millions of views.
Profile A file or group of files stored on a user. These files may contain preferences, settings, contact information, credit information, etc. A profile allows the user's settings to be restored when that user logs back into the computer, network, or service.
Privacy Settings Settings help you indicate whether or not you give consent for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.
