algorithmA set of rules for performing
base ten number system The common number sustem we use.
benchmark A "nice" number that can be used to estimate the size of other numbers.
decimal A special form of a fraction.
denominator The number written below the line in a fraction.
equivalent fractions Fractions that are equal in value but have different numerators and denominators.
fraction A number (a quantity) of the form a/b where a and b are whole numbers.
numerator The number written above the line in a fraction.
percent A special decimal fraction in which the denominator is 100.
reciprocal A fraction by which you multiply a given number so that their product is 1.
unit fraction A fraction with a numerator of 1.
