Salt Water water from a sea or ocean. On average, seawater in the world's oceans has a salinity of about 3.5%. This means that every kilogram (2.2lb), or every litre, of seawater has approximately 35 grams (1.2 oz) of dissolved salts
Water Cycle This describes the continuous movement of water on, above and below the surface of the Earth.
Evaporation A type of vaporization of a liquid, that occur only on the surface of a liquid.
Condensation The change of the physical state of aggregation (or simply state) of matter from gaseous phase into liquid phase and the reverse of evaporation.
Precipitation Any product of the condensation of atmospheric water vapor that is pulled down by gravity and deposited on the Earth's surface.
Divide The line separating neighboring drainage basins (catchments).
Drainage Basins An extent of land where water from rain and melting snow or ice drains downhill into a body of water, such as a river, lake, reservoir, estuary, wetland, sea or ocean.

groundwater Water located beneath the ground surface
permeable rock and sediment water can flow through
impermeable no water can flow through
water table the level at which the groundwater pressure is equal to atmospheric pressure.
aquifer an underground layer of water-bearing permeable rock
