What is the meal frequency requirement? No > 14 hrs. between a substantial evening meal & breakfast, except if nourishing snack is served @ bedtime, max 16 hrs. may elapse, if resident group agrees [F809].
What is the PASARR requirement? PASARR requires that all residents be evaluated for serious mental disorder/intellectual disability [F645].
What is the privacy curtain requirement? Bedrooms must assure full visual privacy per resident. Facilities initially-certified after 3/31/92 (except private rooms) each bed must have ceiling-suspended curtains [F914].
When do you complete the Resident Representative Interviews (RRIs)? Goal is to complete at least 3 RRI interviews across team on first survey day to be better informed for sampling decisions [LTCSP PG].
When do you complete the QAA/QAPI task? QAPI task should take place at end of survey; however, with enough time to investigate & follow-up concerns [LTCSP PG].
What is the appropriate cooling method for hot/cooked potentially hazardous foods (PHF)? Two-step method=Cooled within 2 hours from 135 to 70 degrees F, & within 4 more hours to a temp. of 41 degrees F or less [F812 & Food Code].
How many medication storage rooms and carts should be reviewed? Team should review half of med storage rooms, covering different units & review half of med carts on units where storage room was not observed [CEP].
What is the Federal time-frame requirement for reporting abuse & other reportable allegations? Abuse: (Immediately, but no > 2 hrs.). Other reportable allegations: Serious Bodily Injury Result (Immediately, but no > 2 hrs.) & NO Serious Bodily Injury Result (Not > 24 hrs.) [F609].
What is the Federal requirement for reporting the facility’s abuse investigation results? [F609: Report results within 5 working days of incident].
What is the Federal time-frame requirement for reporting a reasonable suspicion of a crime? Crime Reporting: Serious Bodily Injury Result (Immediately, but > 2 hrs. after forming suspicion. NO Serious Bodily Injury Result (Not > 24 hours) [F608].
What CEP should you use when Resident has: Pain symptoms or potential for pain symptoms related to conditions/treatment? Pain
When citing a deficiency for pain, which severity level cannot be cited? Severity Level 1
Which triggered task should be completed if you noticed a mouse running through the facility? Environment
What are the three investigation skills surveyors use? Observation, Interview, & Record Review
Resident Council should be completed on a survey before which task? Resident Council should be completed prior to Sample Selection
