EAST Initiative The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that holds the intellectual property , training, support , trademarks, brand, and practices for EAST.
EAST Classroom The physical environment designated for EAST in our school.
Service-based Learning students identify and work to solve problems within their community.
Technology-driven Students use industry-grade tools and software to solve the problems that they identify in their communities.
Student-Led Students design projects to work on based on their interest and talents
Collaborative Learning Students work with their peers and community members to address problems as a team.
Community a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.

EAST Vision EAST envisions a world where communities are strengthened through service and technology.
Describe a Novice EAST Learner problem recognition, value, self-directed, and motivated
Describe an Advanced Beginner Learner excitement, drive, positive, motivated, with a willingness to serve others
Describe an EAST Learner who demonstrates Competence Identifies root of problems, has purpose, keeps focus, collaborates, prioritizes and makes good judgement calls.

EAST Community Council A designated group of stakeholders who meet to encourage and support EAST within the community.
EAST Night Out an event wherein the community is invited to and open house setting for students to share projects and to network with business leaders, media, and families
EAST Conference 2 1/2 day event where facilitators, students and stakeholders come together to celebrate all things EAST.
Software the programs and other operating information used by computers. Ex. Google Classroom, Photo Shop, Imovie
Hardware the tools, machines, wiring, and other physical components of computers or other electronic systems. Ex. computer, printer, ipad, camera.
Soft Skills combination of personality traits, behaviors, and social attitudes that allow people to communicate effectively. Ex. Introductions, presentations, email, phone, letters. grants.
Teambuilding the action or process of causing a group of people to work together effectively as a team.
Resume a brief account of a person's education, qualifications, and previous experience typically produced for the purposes for obtaining a position.
Social Media websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking.
Project an individual or collaborative effort that is carefully planned to achieve a particular goal or to solve a problem.
Activity an effort or condition in which things are happening or being done. Activities do not solve problems.
