Leading | refers to the distance between lines of text. This distance, measured in points, is measured from one baseline to the next |
Meanline | falls at the top of many lowercase letters such as "e," "g" and "y." It is also at the curve of letters like "h" |
Ascender | The part of a character that extends above the meanline |
Descender | The part of a character that extends below the baseline |
Foreground | That part of a landscape or picture situated or represented as nearest the spectator. |

JPG | a compressed graphics file format specifically designed for storing photographs. |
Fill | the interior of a shape. |
Stroke | the edge of a shape. |
Send to Back | a command in a graphics program to move the current object to the back layer. |
Group | a command in a graphics program that combines all selected objects into a single group, so that they can be manipulated as a single entity. |
Eyedropper | a tool in a graphics program that can pick up a colour (or text appearance) from the canvas for use elsewhere. |

Distortion | happens when you resize a graphic object in one direction only, using one of the side handles instead of the corner handles. |
