Math Terms

All the terms you need to know to get extra credit.

TermDefinition
Give an application for a Parabola. Satellite dish, Bowl, etc...
Give the definition of a Parabola. A Parabola is the set of points in a plane equal distance from a point and a line.
Give an application for a Circle. Wheel, pizza, you know what a Circle is.
Give the definition for a Circle A Circle is a set of points in a plane equal distance from a point
Give an application for a Ellipse. Planetary orbit, Satellite orbit, etc...
Give the definition of a Ellipse. A Ellipse is a set of points in a plane where the sum of two points is constant
Give an application for a Hyperbola. The lighting from a lamp, the lighting from car headlights in opposite directions, etc...
Give the definition of a Hyperbola. A Hyperbola is a set of points in a plane such that the absolute value of distance between 2 points is constant
