Natural Numbers | An infinite set of whole numbers starting with 0. Eg. 0,1,2,3 |
Integers | An infinite set of whole numbers including negative and positive. Eg. -2,-1,0,1 |
Real Numbers | A number that includes numbers with a fractional part (rational) after the decimal point. Eg. -1.75, 0.5, Root 2, Pi |
Rational Numbers | A number that can be represented as a fraction or a decimal and can be greater than 1. Eg . 1/2 or 0.5 OR 16/8 |
Irrational Numbers | A number that can be calculated to an infinite number of decimal places, without ever slipping into a repeated pattern. Eg. Pi or Root 2 |
Ordinal Numbers | A number that is used to describe the numerical position of a value. Eg. 1st, 2nd or 3rd |
