How do you change the name of a layer in Illustrator? Bring up the layers panel by going to Window>Layers and double-click on the layer
What is the bleed space in a design? The space that gets trimmed in a print document
What is scope creep? When a client keeps asking for additional work to be performed beyond what was originally agreed to
What is NOT a way to change the size of an artboard once a document is created? Go to Artboard panel and adjust the size but be sure to click on the commit (checkmark) button
How would you change the resolution of a project from 300ppi to 72ppi in Adobe Illustrator? Go to Effect>Document Raster Effect Settings and change the resolution
What type of designs are best for CMYK color mode? Brochures Signs Flyers Print
What type of designs are best for RGB color mode? Screen Video Mobile Web
Match the color modes to their descriptions. CMYK: Subtractive RGB: Additive
How do you change the color mode from CMYK to RGB in Adobe Illustrator? Go to File>Document Color Mode>Select RGB
How do you group objects together in Illustrator? While using direct selection tool, click and drag across elements to select. Then go to Object>Group
How do you create a color group? While pressing Shift on the keyboard, select the desired colors and click on folder at the bottom of the panel to create a color group.
In Illustrator, what two ways can you add a gradient to an object? Go to Window>Gradient Use gradient tool
What should be done before beginning work on a client’s design? Present rough idea/sketches for client's approval
What does clicking the global checkbox do when creating a new swatch? It creates a connection between the swatch and the objects created with that color. If you adjust the color, it will adjust in the objects created with that swatch.
Match the text types with their descriptions. Point Type: You use the type tool and click. Best for headlines. Area Type: Created by using your cursor and clicking and dragging to textbox. Best for paragraph type.

Shape Builder Tool Function A pathfinder in a tool. Click and drag across items, it will merge them together. While holding opt/alt key will remove shape.
Pen Tool Function Allows you to add or subtract vector points from a path
Ellipse Tool Function Allows designer to draw circle objects
Blob Brush Tool Function Allows you to add color to an object
Type on a Path Tool Function Allows designer to type on non-linear path (curve, circle, square)
