bias | showing a strong opinion or preference for or against something or someone |
corroboration | an additional source that confirms or supports a news story, article, or piece of information |
credible | able to be believed; trustworthy |
evaluate | to carefully examine something to figure out its value |
criteria | a guideline for assessment |
differentiation | contrasting (or telling the differences between) two or more things |
editorial | articles or blogs that are meant to persuade someone to come to the author's opinion. (These do not have to be fairly balanced and may leave out important information.) |
satire | articles or sites that are meant to be funny and make fun of something or someone. (These will often say things that are not true.) |
hoax | articles or sites that try to fool the reader into believing something that is not true by appearing as realistic as possible |
