Vocabulary words

TermDefinition
Word Processing is the use of computer software to enter and edit text.
Office Button click to open a menu.
Ribbon Contains commands, organized by tabs.
Quick Access toolbar Contains buttons for common commands; you can add buttons to it.
Insertion point Shows where the text will be typed.
Status bar displays information about current document.
View buttons allows you to change views quickly.
Zoom slider allows you to increase or decrease the size of the document.
word wrap when you reach the right margin, the text continues on the next line.
Select text means to choose (highlight) a block of text. Blocks can be one character or an entire document.
Toggling switching between two options.
Quick styles are settings that alter text and that you can apply by clicking a button on the Ribbon.
Undo command reverses recent actions.
Redo command reverses and Undo action.
Repeat command repeats the most recent action.
Drag and Drop to drag selected text from one place in a file to another.
Clipboard is a temporary storage place in the computer's memory.
Formatting refers to the appearance of text.
Find and Replace are editing commands that let you find specific words, and if you wish, replace them with new words.
