Leading Coefficient a term with the coefficient other than one (5x)
Conjugate Binomials binomials that are the same except for the sign between them (3x+5)(3x-5)
Difference of Two Squares conjugate binomials are factors of ______________ (3x+5)(3x-5) to (9x²-25)
Binomial Square Pattern 1. square the first term : (x+9)² = (x²+9) 2. multiply the product of the first time and second term by two. 3. square the second term
Square Root ✓n : a number that gives n when squared (if n is any real number)
Rational Numbers a number that can be written as a ration of two numbers
Irrational Numbers a number that can NOT be written as a ration of two numbers (12.34664678896533456...)
Closure Under Multiplacation Axiom if x and y are any real numbers then xy is a unique real number
Closure Under Addition Axiom if x and y are any real numbers then x+y is a unique real number
Closure a given set of numbers is closed under an operation if there is just one answer, and that answer is in the given set whenever the operation is performed with numbers that are in that set ea: (number in set)(operation)(number in set) = (unique real number)
