Projectile | Any body thrown with some initial velocity, which is then allowed to move under the action of gravity alone, without being propelled by any engine or fuel. |
Trajectory | The path followed by a projectile. |
Examples of projectile motion | ball rolling off a table, car running off the edge of the cliff etc. |
Projectile launched at a steeper angle | Goes slower than when it is launched at a shallow angle |
Maximum height and range | angle = 45 degree |
Time of flight | 2u sinx / g |
height | u^2 sin^2(x) / 2g |
Range | u^2 sin(2x) / g |
Newton's law for a solid medium | velocity, v = sqrt(T / m) |
Mass per unit length | m = π d^2 (rho) / 4 |
Frequency | v/lambda |
v | v_0 sin(wt) |
