Multiview Drawing
Term | Definition |

first-angle projection | A system of projection in which the object is projected onto the planes from the first angle, or quadrant. |
implementation | The process of drawing the object that has been visualized. |
multiview drawing | A method of drawing views of an object as it is seen from different positions and arranged in a standard order. |
normal views | The three most commonly used views in multiview drawing: top, front, and right-side. |
orthographic projection | The process of projecting two or more views of an object onto imaginary planes by drawing lines perpendicularly from the object to the planes. |
third-angle projection | A system of projection in which the object is projected onto the planes from the third angle, or quadrant. |
visualization | The ability to see clearly in the mind's eye what a machine, device, or other object looks like. |
front view | The view of a multiview drawing that shows the exact width and height of an object. |
top view | The view of a multiview drawing that shows the exact width and depth of an object. |
right-side view | The view of a multiview drawing that shows the exact depth and height of an object. |
relationship of views | A side in proportion to another. |
the glass box | A technique used to visualize an object. |
