Tectonic Plates | One of the giant, slow moving pieces of rock that make up Earth's lithosphere |
Convergent Boundary | A region where two tectonics plates collide, or push |
Trench | A deep canyon that forms where one tectonic plate is pushed under another |
Volcano | An opening in Earth's surface which magma is released |
Earthquake | The shaking of Earth's surface |
Divergent Boundary | A region where two tectonic plates move away from each other |
Rift | A crack that forms where two tectonic plates pull apart from one another |
Transform Boundary | A boundary where two tectonic plates slide past each other. |
Plate Tectonics | The movement of Earth's tectonic plates slowly over time. |
Continental Crust | The older and thicker part of Earth's crust, which makes up the landmasses |
