What are the three different types of working drawings? detail drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings
What is a detail drawing? description of a single part
What is a Assembly Drawing? A description of an object made up of two or more parts and shows how it fits together
What is a Installation Drawing? shows how the parts fit onto the aircraft and explains how to install the parts
What are the four Sectional Drawings? Revolved section, Removed section, Full section, and Half section
What is a wire diagram? show the electrical wiring and circuitry of all the electrical appliances and devices used on aircraft
What is a Schematic diagram? Shows how a system works and how the components relate to each other ( primarily used to troubleshoot a malfunction)
What is a pictorial drawing? It describes the function of a system using pictures of the items
What is a orthographic projection drawing? a two-dimensional drawing of a part or repair
What are the most common Views for orthographic projection drawing? One-view, two-view, and three-view drawings are most commonly used
What is a isometric drawing? a 3D view of a part (3 sides visible)
What are the 6 main lines used in drawings? Visible line, Hidden line, and Center line (main 3) Extension line, Dimension line, and Section line
For Tolerance, a dimension of 0.281 has a plus-0.008/minus-0.002 allowance. The tolerance, therefore is? 0.281 + 0.008 = 0.289 (maximum) 0.281 - 0.002 = 0.279 (minimum) The difference: 0.289 - 0.279 = 0.010
What is Tolerance when talking about drawings? difference between the extreme permissible dimensions
What material symbol frequently used in drawings to represent all metals? cast iron
What is a title block? contains information that is important to the drawing
What is the title blocks revision number mean? This number will indicate any changes to the original design
What is a bill of material? list of the materials required to make the part
What are Station numbers used for? And most common used is? used to locate objects on an aircraft. The most common are the fuselage stations.
Who defines the Datum? the manufacturer
Are the numbers + or - forward of the datum? -!
