What is planning? Planning is the setting down of specific goals and objectives.
Name the types of planning 1) Mission Statement, 2) Strategic Plan, 3) Tactical Plan, 4) Operational Plan, 5) Contingency Plan.
What does Mission Statement mean? Mission Statement is a brief statement outlining the nature of the organisation, helps each member of staff to stay focused on the main aims. Example: Mercy College Mission Statement found in the journal.
What does Strategic Plan mean? Strategic Plan is a long term plan for a business, covers 5 year period or more.
What does Tactical Plan? Tactical Plan is a short term plan used by business to help them achieve the long term plan. Example: set up a sales office in UK.
What does Operational Plan mean? Operational Plan is a short term plan set up to achieve a certain purpose. Example: recruit new staff
What is HRM? HRM stands for Human Resource Management, an organisation attracts, develops and rewards its workforce. Contributes as well as possible to the achievement of the organisation goal.

What is meant by "Preparation" and give an example Job description~ specifying the type of work to be done Eg: increasing size of customers Person specification~ qualities and type of person needed for job Eg: A degree in business
What is meant by "Find Candidates" and give an example Advertise~ this will attract people who are interested in the job Eg: billboard,newspaper Interview~ this will help you find out information about the person and seeing if they are the right fit for the job Eg: CV
What is meant by "Screen Candidates" and give an example Short listing applicants using a set of criteria established by the HRM >Application forms >Curriculum Vitae
