Climate

TermDefinition
Koppen Climate Classification System Classification system for climates, divided into five types, based on the mean monthly values of temperature and precipitation and types of vegetation.
Temperate Climate A type of climate without extreme changes between seasons precipitation and temperature wise.
Tropical Climate A non-arid climate with average temperatures of 18 degrees Celsius or above. Temperature and sunlight is constant year-round.
Polar Climate A type of climate with extremely cold winters and cool summers. Average temperature is usually 10 degrees Celsius or below.
Dry Climate Type of climate with low and unpredictable precipitation.
Greenhouse Gases Atmospheric gases that causes natural heating of the Earth's surface.
Climate Change A change in global/regional climate patterns usually due to the burning of fossil fuels.
Global Warming A long-term rise in Earth's average surface temperatures.
Mitigation Is the act of reducing or preventing the severity of something.
