URL uniform resource locator an address that determines a route on the internet
search bar the bar at the top of the browser that you type keywords into to search
spyware software that secretly runs while your computer is running / It sends information about you/ your search habits, passwords etc.
homepage main web page for an individual or organization
website a collection of related web pages
address bar the space at the top of the browser where you type the web address.
hyperlink links for short are a wprd or several words in a document whose function is to take you directly to a website...usually a different color than the body text
browser a program (software) that accesses and displays files and other data and allows you to see and use the internet
address the code that identifies where a piece of information is stored. ex www.chastainjwms.blogspot.com
bookmark a command to make a bowser save an internet address , so that the site can be visited easily latere...a shortcut!
search engine a tool designed to search for information on the www
Internet A computer network consisting of a world wide network of computer networks. They use TCP/IP network protocols to facilitate data transmission.
