Excel Lesson 7 Vocab

Vocabulary for MSIA Excel

TermDefinition
Boundary The line between rows or columns.
Column Heading Identifying letter for each column.
Column Width Left to right measurement of a column.
Document Theme Predefined set of colors, fonts, and effects that can be applied to a workbook.
Effects Modify the appearance of an object.
Footer Line of text at the bottom of the page.
Gridlines The lines that display around worksheet cells.
Header Line of text at the top of the page.
Orientation The way the page is setup, landscape or portrait.
Page break A divider that breaks a worksheet into separate pages for printing.
Page Break Preview Quickly adjust automatic page breaks to achieve a more desirable printed document.
Print Preview A preview of the page before printing.
Row Heading Identifying number for each row.
Row Height Top to bottom measurement of a row.
Scaling The shrinking or stretching printed output to a percentage of its actual size.
Transposing To change a row or column causes your cell data to change orientation.
Watermark A large semi-transparent symbol or word that describes the status of the worksheet.
White Space The empty area of a document.
