Term | Definition |

Fossil Fuels | fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas formed from the remains of prehistoric animals and plants that were buried in layers of rock and subjected to large amounts of heat and pressure. |
Fossils | Evidence of the past. They tell us about the Earth's past environment and species as well as climate and the atmosphere. |
Imprint | A mark or depression made by pressure. |
Preserve | To last or retain certain characteristics over a long period of time. |
Present | Modern day or now. |
Past | Time before now. |
Slow changes to earth | weathering, erosion and deposition |
Rapid changes to Earth | Earthquakes,Landslide,hurricane,tsunami and Volcano. |
pressure | a continuous force against something |
renewable resources | resources that CAN be replaced in a short amount of time ex(soil, sun, crops, people, plants, trees, air, animals and water |
non renewable resources | resources that CANNOT be replaced quickly. Takes millions of years (coal, oil, natural gas, silver, gold, diamonds, aluminum and gems) |
