---|---|
Metal | Found on the far left of the periodic table. |
Metalloids | Zig zag line on the table, in the middle/right |
Non-Metals | found on the far right of the periodic table. |
Luster | Characteristic of metals and it means to shine |
Malleable | Characteristic of metals and it means to be able to be flattened without a crumbling |
Ductile | Characteristic of metals and it means to be able to drawn out into a thin wire. |
semiconductor | Characteristic of metalloids and it means to conduct heat and electricity sometimes. |
brittle | Characteristic of nonmetals and it means to crumble |
Dull | Characteristic of nonmetals and it means to have no luster |
Corrosive | Characteristic of metals, it is the ability to rust |
melting | State of matter change, occurs when solid goes to a liquid |
Boiling | state of matter change, occurs when a liquid is hot so it starts to boil through out the entire thing |
Evaporation | state of matter change, occurs when a liquid is turning into a gas so it happens only on the top. |
Freezing | state of matter change, occurs when a liquid is cold so it starts to freeze. |
Condensation | state of matter change, occurs when a gas is turning into a liquid. |
depostion | state of matter change, occurs when a gas is turning into a liquid. |
sublimation | state of matter change, occurs when a solid is turning into a gas. |
