Lesson 2 Basic Editing
Term | Definition |

Autocorrect | A feature that replaces symbols, commonly misspelled words, and abbreviations with specific text strings. |
clipboard | Stores the items for you to paste in another location of the document or another Office file. |
Copy | When word places a duplicate copy in the in the Clipboard. |
Cut | When word removes text from the original location and places the text in the Clipboard collection. |
Document-Properties | identify the creator of the document, the date the document was created, its subject and category, and keywords that can be used to search for the document. |
Go to | Provides a way to navigate through longer documents quickly. |
Navigation Pane | contains commands for moving and searching through a document. |
Object Zoom | Enables you to zoom in on objects such as tables, charts, or images while in Read Mode. |
Paste | Pastes text from the Clipboard to a new location in either the original document or a new document. |
Read Mode | Changes the page layout of the document with a larger font for easier reading. |
Replace | you can replace formatting such as specific font color, bolding, or italics. |
Thumbnails | Reduces size versions of images |
Wildcard | characters to find words or phrases that contain specific letters or combinations of letters. |
