Backstage view the view that opens when you click file tab it contains commands for managing backstage view files and setting program options
I- beam when you place the cursor near it, the insertion point changes to a large "I"
Ribbon contains multiple commands on separate tabs
Command instruction based on an action that you perform in Word by clicking a button or entering information into a command box
Dialog box a box that displays additional options or information you can use to execute a command
Dialog box launcher a small arrow in the lower right corner of the group
Group set of related tools on the ribbon
Tab a labeled section of the ribbon, it contains a group of related tools
Block Style the block style format has open or mixed punctuation and is common to many business documents
menu click start to display the start menu
mixed punctuation requires a colon after the salutation and a comma after the closing
nonprinting characters symbols for certain formatting commands such as paragraphs
open punctuation requires no punctuation after the salutation or the closing
preview right of the print options setting enables you to view your document as it will appear when it is printed
print when you can print your document
quick access toolbar lets you access word commands
repeat the repeat commands lets you repeat your last action
save clicking save button for the first time opens up the save as screen
save as also appears as a command listed in backstage view when you click the file tab
settings enables users to set document properties
template to create a new blank document or document from a template
undo the undo command lets you cancel or undo your last word command or action
white space is the space between pages of the document
word wrap automatically wraps text to the next line as it reaches the right margin
quick access toolbar a customizable toolbar that contains a set of commands that are independent
insertion point in the upper left corner of a document where you begin typing, it changes to a large "I"
