administrative Law | the body of law that regulates the operation and procedures of government agencies |
Case Law | the law established by the outcome of former cases |
English Common Law | result of custom-based laws being unified by courts in England |
ethics | moral principles that govern a persons behavior or the conducting of an activity |
greatest Good | a goal put forth for governments |
Law of Precedent- | when a judge is required to follow an earlier court decison |
Statutory Law | Is a term used to define written laws, enacted by a legislative law |
The Golden Rule | a basic principle that should always be followed to ensure success in general or in a particular activity |
Consequential Ethical Reasoning | Consequences for something a person has done |
Rule Based Ethical Reasoning | When laws are made to protect the rights of the majority, the greatest number of people benefit |
Ethics as Reflected in U. S. Laws and the U. S. Constitution | Because the U.S. legal system is grounded o majority rule, the laws are judged to be right or good when they affect the majority of the people positively. |
