Term | Definition |

guides | Dashed vertical and horizontal lines that you can display and position on the slide in any location to help you place objects. |
ScreenTip | Small box that pops up when dragging guides to indicate position (numbers). |
Control | To create a guide, hold this key while dragging from a ruler. |
Animations | Click on this tab to be able to see the numbers indicating animations are present on slide objects. |
Effect Options | To change the direction of animations, use this drop down on the Animations tab. |
red | The point at the end of a motion path is this color. |
green | The point at the beginning of a motion path is this color. |
Add Animation | To add a second animation to an object instead of replacing the assigned animation, use this button with a plus sign. |
With Previous | Set Timing to this to make an animation happen at the same time as another object. |
After Previous | Set Timing to this to make an animation happen after another object animation. |
Painter | Use the Animation ____ to copy an animation setting from one object to another. |
Pane | To see a list of all the animations on a slide, you can open the Animation _____. |
duration | To change the length of time an animation occurs, modify this under Timing: |
Spacebar | Press this keyboard key to move through/play animations or sequences on a live slideshow. |
trigger | Set this for an animation that you want to be able to choose when it occurs while giving the presentation. |
Selection | If a picture you want to access is hidden under other items so you can’t click on it, use the ______ Pane to bring the picture to the top of the other items so you can remove it. |

Rehearse Timings | Instead of guessing how much time each slide needs to remain displayed, you can ensure you have the right slide timing for each slide if you use this feature: |
S | Press this key to toggle between turning on or off automatic timings while running a slideshow. |
kiosk | If you apply this setting, every slide must have a link or timing assigned to it and the slideshow will play continuously. |
Set Up Show | To set up a presentation for kiosk mode, use this button on the Slideshow tab. |
Document Inspector | This is a tool you can use to check a presentation for hidden data, such as the author’s name and other personal information. |
If exporting a presentation for handouts, it is probably best to use this format. |
