First step how a bill becomes a law | 1st reading cobinet minister, Members of Parliment or Prime Minister present bill to ALL Members of Parliament and they vote. |
Second step how a bill becomes a law | 2nd reading Members of Parliament debate bill again and vote |
Third step how a bill becomes a law | make amendments (changes to bill)then report back to House of Commons |
Final step how a bill becomes a law | Final vote for bill to move on to the Senate |
In the Senate | - The bill moves through 3 reading and is passed on (like what happens in the House of commons.-If they don't vote for it it goes to the House of Commons-If they vote yes it is sent to the Governor General |
Governor General | -She/He reads the bill-She signs the bill (this is called royal assent)After being signed the Bill becomes a Law |
