Basic vocabulary and computer terminology

TermDefinition
screentip Displayed when you roll over an icon and briefly explain what the icon represents.
ribbon A command bar that organizes a program's features into a series of tabs at the top of a window.
icon A pictorial representations of objects.
template Pre-formatted document.
point The smallest unit and usually used in typography, computer font sizes.
dialog box A secondary window that allows users to perform a command, asks user a question, or provides users with information or progress feedback before command is implemented.
menu Hierarchical lists of commands or options available to users in the current context.
