Stem | plant part that transports water up from the roots, food back from the leaves, and supports the leaves, flowers, and fruit |
Leaf (leaves) | This plant part takes in carbon dioxide and uses energy from the sun to make food for the plant |
Photosynthesis | process by which plants convert the sun's energy, water, and carbon dioxide into sugars |
Roots | The part of the plant that absorbs water & nutrients from the soil, anchors the plant in place, and stores food. |
Fruit | the structure of a flowering plant that protects dormant seeds and aids in their dispersal. |
Air, sunlight, water, soil, space | 5 basic needs of a plant |
