TermDefinition
Political Party a group of persons who seek to control government through winning elections and holding public office.
Political Spectrum the range of political views
Pluralism The existence of multiple points of view within a country and the sharing (and fighting for) of power and influence.
Political Ideology The combination of political socialization and knowledge The general “category” (label) that your current political makeup falls into.
Fake News News written and published with the intent to mislead in order to damage an agency, entity, or person, and/or gain financially or politically
Electorate all of the people entitled to vote in a given election
Third Parties a political party organized as an alternative to the major parties in a two-party system.
Independent A terms used to describe people who have no party affilation
Liberal Ideology that is considered "left-wing" or "radical" Favors government involvement in economic activity but opposes government involvement in social/political activity.
Conservative Ideology that is considered "right-wing" or "conservative." Opposes government involvement in economic activity but supports government involvement in social/political activity.
Mass Media Means of communication that reach large audiences , especially television, radio, printed publications, and the internet.
Opinion Leader Any person who, for any reason, has an unusually strong influence on the views of others.
Electoral College A group of persons chosen in each State and the District of Columbia ( D.C.) every four years who make a formal selection of the President and Vice President.
Political Knowledge General political beliefs guide the formation of opinions on specific issues, taken together, these comprise our political ideology
Political Socialization Thefactors that from birth shape your political beliefs and attitudes, happens every minute of very and will until you are dead
