7 Exploring Space

Observatory | A large building used to view the sky, stars, and planets. It often has a dome-shaped (curved) roof |
Orbit | A curved path, usually oval in shape, created by gravity |
Satellite | Any object that orbits around another object |
Space Probe | Manmade instrument that goes deep into space to gather (get) and return data (information) |
Space Shuttle | Vehicle that carries supplies or people into space; it can be reused (used again) |
Apollo | The final (last) project to get people on the moon |
Global Positioning System (GPS) | Uses satellites to find locations on the Earth |
