Diseño y problemas de operación de platos en torres de absorción

Area activa Área del plato en la cual están localizados los orificios a través de los cuales fluye la fase gas
Derramadero Sección de lámina o placa que sobresale de un plato para mantener un cierto nivel deseado de líquido sobre el mismo
Vertedero Elemento de una torre de platos que permite conducir el líquido desde un plato a su inmediato inferior
Plato Ideal Plato en el cual las corrientes que lo abandonan se encuentran en equilibrio mutuo
Capuchas Elementos fijos ubicados sobre los orificios de los platos de torres de absorción, los cuales tienen ranuras que permiten el paso del gas para ponerse en contacto con el líquido que fluye sobre los mismos
Válvulas Elementos móviles colocados sobre los agujeros de los platos de torres de absorción, los cuales se elevan cuando aumenta el flujo de gas
Perforaciones Orificios que se realizan sobre la superficie de un plato para el flujo de gas
Lloriqueo Problema de operación en un plato el cual se caracteriza por la caída de gotas de líquido a través de los orificios del mismo
Arrastre Problema de operación de un plato el cual se caracteriza por el acarreo de gotas de líquido por medio del gas desde un plato a otro superior
Inundación Problema de operación de un plato el cual se caracteriza por el llenado del espacio entre platos por parte del líquido
