Stomach Qi Deficiency Tiredness in the morning, epigastric discomfort that is better after eating, quiet belching on empty stomach, deficient pulse in the right middle position
Stomach Deficient and Cold Epigastric discomfort relieved by eating and warmth, no appetite, tiredness, cold weak limbs
Stomach Yin Deficiency Burning epigastric pain, dry mouth, red tongue with peeled center, hunger with no desire to eat/thirst with no desire to drink, dry vomiting, hiccups
Stomach Qi Rebelling Upward Nausea, Belching, Vomiting, Hiccups; Tongue no change; Pulse Tense or string-taut in right middle position;
Stomach Fire (Phlegm-Fire) Burning sensation in the epigastrium, voracious appetite, foul breath, painful bleeding gums or mouth ulcers
Cold Invading Stomach (excess acute pattern) Sudden pain in epigastrium, vomiting, feeling cold, deep-tense pulse
Retention of Food in Stomach Epigastric fullness and distention that is worse with pressure, sour regurgitation, no appetite (ST Fire voracious appetite), thick sticky tongue coating
Blood Stasis in Stomach Stabbing pain in the epigastrium, vomiting of dark blood, purple tongue
Retention of Fluid due to Cold Epigastric discomfort with gradual onset, nausea and reflux of clear fluids, vomiting after eating, slippery white coating
