Football Rules and things you should know
Term | Definition |

Quarterback | A player positioned behind the center who directs a team's offensive play. |
Center | The center is the innermost lineman of the offensive line on a football team's offense. |
Receiver | an offensive position, the key player in most of the passing plays. |
Interception | an act of a defensive player catching a forward pass |
Sack | when the quarterback (or another offensive player acting as a passer) is tackled behind the line of scrimmage before he can throw a forward pass |
Fumble | when a player who has possession and control of the ball loses it before being downed (tackled) or scoring |
Line of scrimmage | An imaginary line crossing the field which both offensive and defensive players cannot cross until the football is snapped and the play has started. It |

Grip | The top half of the ball with finger spread over the laces |
Touchdown | a six-point score made by carrying or passing the ball into the end zone of the opposing side, or by recovering it there following a fumble or blocked kick. |
extra point | when scoring team is allowed to attempt to score one extra point by kicking the ball through the uprights in the manner of a field |
saftey | The ball carrier is tackled or forced out of bounds in his own end zone. |
