glaciers | Huge sheets of ice that cover land; found where temperatures are very cold |
landforms | Natural shapes or features on the Earth's surface. |
volcano | An opening in Earth's surface from which lava flows. |
mountains | A place on Earth's surface where the land is much higher than the land that surrounds it. |
plateau | A mountain area that has a flat top. |
valley | A lowland area between higher areas such as mountains. |
canyon | A deep valley with very steep sides. |
cavern | A large cave or underground chamber. |
island | An area of land tha is entirely surrounded by water.These are sometimes located in lakes, or out from a seashore. |
