Buffer A substance that tends to stabilize the PH of a solution.
Mesophile An organism that grows between 10-50C a moderate temp loving microbe
Thermophile An organism whose optimum growth temp is between 50-60C a heat loving microbe
Psychrophile An organism that grows best at about 15C & doesnt grow above 20C a cold loving microbe
plasmolysis Loss of water from a cell in a hypertonic enviroment
Extreme Halophile requires high salt concentrations because they have adapted to that environment
Facultative Halophile Do not require high salt concentrations but Are able to grow at salt concentrations up to 2%
