LIQUIDS (6th Grade Science Final Exam Review)

QuestionAnswer
Cohesion Water molecules sticking to other water molecules.
Adhesion Water molecules sticking to objects.
Density The mass divided by volume.
Water Vapor Water evaporated to steam or in the form of gas.
Universal Solvent Is water because it can dissolve anything.
Capillary Action Water molecules bonding to other molecules for it to rise up.
Surface Tension The tightness across water from polar molecules pulling against each other.
Polar Molecule A molecule that has electrically charged areas.
Water Molecule Diagram A water molecule has one oxygen atom (O) and two hydrogen atoms (H). There is a partial negative charge on the oxygen atom end and a partial positive charge on the hydrogen atom end as shown in the diagram to the right.
The Water Cycle The process by which water moves.
