Exteraneous irrelevant or unrelated to the subject being dealt with. The extraneous noise from the street was keeping us awake all night.
frivolous not having any serious purpose or value. Less frivolous than someone I know.
incidental accompanying but not a major part of something. Every day their is an incidental thing that happens to everyone for a reason.
inconsequential not important or significant. Everything is inconsequential except for family.
irrelevant not connected with or relevant to something. There is irrelevant information going on in the news.
negligible so small or unimportant as to be not worth considering; insignificant. on a quiz with short questions I only spend a negligible amount of time studying.
peripheral relating to or situated on the edge or periphery of something. Do not spend too much time on the peripheral questions because of the time.
petty of little importance; trivial. The officer did not arrest the teen for the petty crime.
superficial appearing to be true or real only until examined more closely. I still only have a superficial knowledge of the higher-level concepts of the subject.
trifling unimportant or trivial. My time is too valuable to spend on trifling matters that have little worth.
trivial of little value or importance. It’s a complete waste of time and energy to continue to argue over such a trivial matter.
