"Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, who is already sick and pale with grief." ~This line is said by Romeo ~ "Let Daylight shine so night can be dead, the moon is jealous of the sun and compared to Juliet." ~ Romeo shows a comparison of Juliet to something bright, and the theme of contrast is shown.
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other word would smell just as sweet." ~ This line is said by Juliet ~"What's a name? If we change the name of a rose, will it smell differently?" ~ She doesn't care that Romeo is a Montague and will give up her life.
"O, swear not by the moon, the inconstant moon, That monthly changes in her circled orb, Lest that thy love prove likewise variable." ~ This line is said by Juliet "Don't swear by the moon since it chances. If you compare our love to something inconsistent, our love will be inconsistent too." ~Warning against fast love
"Too like the lightning, which doth cease to be Ere one can say “It lightens.”" ~This line is said by Juliet "Too much like lightning, which is gone as soon as someone notices its presence." ~Warning against fast love
" Pronounce this sentence then: Women may fall when there’s no strength in men" ~This line is said by Friar ~"If men aren't reliable, how are we able to hold women to the same standard?" ~Warning against fast love.
"In one respect I’ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove To turn your households’ rancor to pure love." ~This line is said by Friar ~"I'll marry you in hopes that the feud will end." ~ Juliet's already been promised to Paris, and it wouldn't be good if they were secretly married.
"Wisely, and slow. They stumble that run fast." ~This line is said by Friar ~" Be careful, you you run too fast, you will fall." ~Warning against fast love
"if ye should lead her into a fool’s paradise, as they say, it were a very gross kind of behavior, as they say; for the gentlewoman is young;" ~This line is said by the Nurse. ~"If you say you will marry her, then do what you claim. She is young and naive." ~The Nurse is protective/taken a motherly role.
" I would thou hadst my bones, and I thy news. " ~This line is said by Juliet ~"I would trade my youth for news from Romeo." ~Shows Juliet's desperate for Romeo's love.
"Therefore love moderately: long love doth so; Too swift arrives as tardy as too slow." ~This line is said by Friar ~If you love in moderation, love will last; if you don't, it'll leave as soon as it came. ~Last warning against fast love
