Ethnic Group A group of people who share cultural ideas and beliefs that have been a part of their community for generations.
Religious Group A group that shares a belief system in a god or gods, with a specific set of rituals and literature.
Arab Began to spread into North Africa in the late 600s AD , taking Islam and the Arabic language with them.
Ashanti Found in the modern country of Ghana. The Golden Stool represents their kingdom's power.
Bantu Farmers and animal herders. Their migration was one of the largest movements of people in Africa's history. Many languages are based on this ethnic group.
Swahili Community that developed along the coast of East Africa. Means 'one who lives on the coast'
