Energy The ability to cause change
Mechanical Energy Energy that moves objects
Sound Energy results from the vibration of particles on a solid, liquid, or gas
Chemical energy Energy that is stored in the chemical composition of matter
Thermal Energy The total amount of energy from the movement of particles in matter
Electromagnetic Energy Transmitted through space in the form of invisible waves
Nuclear energy When a heavy atom's nucleus breaks apart or the joining of two atoms
Kinetic energy The energy of motion
Potential energy Stored energy that an object has due to it position or chemical composition
mass A measure of how much matter an object is made of
Matter Anything that takes up space. Solid, liquid, gas
Thermometer device used to measure temperature

Conduction the process that moves energy from one object to another
Conductors Materials that transfer energy easily. Keeps heat out
