Circumlocution | a roundabout or indirect way of speaking; the use of more words than necessary to express an idea. |
Colloquial | characteristic of or appropriate to ordinary or familiar conversation rather than formal speech or writing; informal. |
Diffuse | characterized by great length or discursiveness in speech or writing; wordy. |
Digress | to deviate or wander away from the main topic or purpose in speaking or writing; depart from the principal line of argument, plot, study, etc. |
Eloquence | the practice or art of using language with fluency and aptness. |
Garrulous | excessively talkative in a rambling, roundabout manner, especially about trivial matters. |
Grandiloquent | speaking or expressed in a lofty style, often to the point of being pompous or bombastic. |
Loquacious | talking or tending to talk much or freely; talkative; chattering; babbling; garrulous |
