Producer | organism that produces its own food. Includes the organisms in the plant kingdom. |
Vascular plants | plants that have tubes to transport the water and the glucose to various parts. |
Nonvascular plants | plants with no vascular tubes. Obtain resources directly from the environment, |
Monocot | plant with one cotyledon whose leaves are long and narrow and whose vascular bundles are arranged randomly. |
Dicot | plant with two cotyledons. Vascular bundles are arranged in a circular pattern. |
Angiosperm | flowering plants |
Gymnosperm | cone |
Roots | structure of the plant that takes in the water. |
Photosynthesis | process where plants make glucose |
Respiration | process where the food is broken down into a usable form. |
Stem | supports the plant |
Phototropism | plant’s response to light. |
Thigmotropism | plant’s response to touch |
