Money maddness

TermDefinition
Atm ATM stands for, automated teller machine, a machine at a bank witch enables people to perform basic activities like checking a balance. They can also withdraw ( take out ) or transfer funds even if the bank is closed.
Certified Check A check or amount of money were the bank promises payment.
checking account An account in a bank where the bank holds your money and you can write checks. Sometimes the bank will pay interest.
Check Register The record of how much money has been taken out and deposited in my checking account. The register has to match what the bank says.
Debit Card A debit card lets you get money from your checking account right away but you can only spend as much money as is in your account.
Direct Deposit When money is put directly into an account without writing a check. paychecks are usually done this way.
Online Banking Banking done over the internet.
Savings Account An account that makes interest but can't use checks.
Signature Card When you open an account you have to sign a card. The bank uses your signature to make sure you are the person signing checks.
